Cancer Center Associates Services - PET Imaging
Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET/CT) is a nuclear medicine, imaging technique that produces a three-dimensional image of functional processes in the body. The combined PET/CT scan provide images that pinpoint the anatomic location of abnormal metabolic activity within the body. PET/CT scans are performed to detect cancer, determine whether a cancer has spread in the body, assess the effectiveness of a treatment plan, or determine if a cancer has returned after treatment.
